As World Environment Day approaches, we thought it would be a meaningful time to share a little more about the sustainability practices behind Rose & Co. Botanicals — the quieter choices that shape how we create our natural skincare and botanical perfumes. From organically grown botanicals and small-batch production to recyclable glass packaging and lower-impact practices, sustainability is something we continue to learn about, refine, and thoughtfully weave into every part of our process.

ble skincare and perfume has never just been about the products for us, though we do strive to create formulations that are as natural, nourishing, and earth-aligned as possible.

Sustainability at Rose & Co. is an ongoing practice of learning, questioning, and making more conscious choices at every stage of what we do. From understanding the environmental impact of raw materials and avoiding ingredients linked to deforestation or biodiversity loss — including all palm-derived ingredients — to choosing organically grown botanicals, recyclable glass packaging, low-impact production methods, and ethical sourcing practices, each decision is made with long-term care in mind.

We continue to educate ourselves around endangered plant species, sustainable farming practices, and responsible ingredient sourcing because we believe true sustainability is not a destination, but an evolving commitment to creating beauty with greater integrity, transparency, and respect for both people and planet.

Farm-to-Face Botanical Skincare

Many of the botanicals used throughout our skincare and perfume collections are organically grown, harvested, distilled, or infused here on our small Australian farm.

From citrus oils distilled in-house to floral waters and garden-grown botanicals, working more closely with nature allows us to remain connected to the ingredients we use and the rhythms of the seasons that shape them. This slower farm-to-face approach not only supports ingredient quality and freshness, but also helps reduce unnecessary transport and encourages a more conscious relationship with the land.

Conscious Packaging and Low-Impact Practices

We thoughtfully choose recyclable violet glass packaging for much of our collection because it can be reused, recycled, and treasured long after the product itself has been enjoyed. Where possible, we avoid unnecessary plastic and instead use lower-impact materials such as unbleached kraft packaging, reclaimed fabric pouches, compostable materials, shredded paper, and recyclable postal packaging. Our workshop is powered largely by solar energy, our water is sourced through rain-harvesting systems, and all botanical waste is returned to the earth through composting to help nourish future growth.

Ethical Ingredient Sourcing and Sustainability Education

At Rose & Co., sustainability also means understanding where ingredients come from and the wider environmental and social impact they may carry. We avoid ingredients associated with deforestation, biodiversity destruction, or unethical labour practices, and we carefully choose suppliers who share our values around transparency, sustainability, and ethical sourcing. We are especially mindful around endangered botanicals and prioritise renewable, lower-impact alternatives whenever possible, including organically grown Australian sandalwood and ethically sourced agarwood from regenerative plantations.

Entering the Organic Beauty Awards 2026

This year, we were deeply honoured to be invited to enter the LOAEL Organic Beauty Awards again. For us, the invitation feels meaningful not simply because of the recognition, but because it reflects the values we continue striving toward as a small Australian botanical beauty brand — thoughtful craftsmanship, integrity in ingredients, sustainability, and a gentler approach to beauty. As part of this year’s entry, we selected a small collection of products that we feel most closely reflect the heart of Rose & Co. Botanicals and our commitment to consciously created skincare and botanical perfume.
