Native Botanical Skincare: Australia’s Gift to Natural Beauty

Updated: Oct 29

The Power of Native Botanical Skincare

Australia’s native plants hold remarkable healing and rejuvenating properties; shaped by sun, soil, and resilience. At Rose & Co., our approach to native botanical skincare honours these ingredients in their purest form. We craft our perfumes and skincare on our farm, using sustainable methods and ethically sourced botanicals that nurture both skin and planet.

Kakadu Plum: Vitamin C for Bright, Healthy Skin

Native to northern Australia, Kakadu Plum (Terminalia ferdinandiana) is the world’s richest natural source of vitamin C. It is a vital ingredient in our Holding Space Hand & Body Cream and Moon Water Hydrating Serum, it helps:

  • Boost collagen and skin elasticity

  • Brighten and even skin tone

  • Protect from environmental stress and free radicals

Our Kakadu Plum extract is sustainably harvested and supports Indigenous communities — an ingredient that’s as beneficial for the land as it is for your skin.

Davidson’s Plum: The Radiance Fruit

The vibrant Davidson’s Plum (Davidsonia jerseyana) grows in the subtropical rainforests of New South Wales and Queensland. We feature it in our Rain Dance Face Toning Mist for its ability to:

  • Revitalise tired skin with natural fruit acids

  • Smooth texture and refine pores

  • Deliver antioxidant protection

Rich in anthocyanins and vitamin E, Davidson’s Plum helps the skin glow with renewed vitality while promoting eco-diverse, low-impact farming.

Quandong: The Timeless Desert Fruit (Coming 2026)

Known as the desert peach, Quandong (Santalum acuminatum) is high in vitamin C, essential fatty acids, and phenolic acids. This native powerhouse will feature in our Timeless Skin Elixir (2026) — formulated to:

  • Support skin repair and elasticity

  • Restore natural radiance

  • Deliver antioxidant and anti-inflammatory benefits

Quandong is a drought-resilient crop, aligning perfectly with our circular ingredient philosophy and commitment to sustainability.

While these botanicals feature primarily in our botanical perfumes, they bring emotional and skin-supporting benefits to our aromatherapy-inspired formulations:

  • Wattle Absolute – soft, sweet, and grounding; symbolises renewal and resilience.

  • Australian Sandalwood Essential Oil – calming, regenerative, and sustainably harvested from Western Australia.

  • Ho Wood – gently floral with high natural linalool content, known for its skin-soothing and balancing effects.
